Infill & Layer

This project involves alterations to House 4 on Governor’s Island, originally built in the 18th century and modified in the 19th and 20th centuries. In 2022, further changes were made to accommodate a ceramic artist for a summer art exhibition. I began with a study model, using it as an infill that alters the section and landscape, creating a new relationship between ground and elevation.
